Admission criteria and documentation
To be admitted to the Master of Industrial Drug Development or on to individual courses within this programme, you must meet the following criteria:
You must have a bachelor's degree, a professional bachelor’s degree, a diploma degree, a master’s degree or equivalent within chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy, medicine, biomedicine, human biology, molecular biology, veterinary sciences, health sciences, nursing, engineering or equivalent.
The degree must be obtained from a recognised higher education institution in Denmark or abroad.
Documentation
To apply, you must submit a certified copy of your degree certificate or diploma and may include an academic transcript. If the document is not in English, it must be accompanied by a certified English translation. A certified copy is a copy of an academic document with an original stamp or seal from the higher education institution that has been certified by a recognised legal or public body. Only copies of academic documents bearing the original stamp or seal will be accepted.
After having completed the qualifying degree, you must have at least two years of relevant work experience related to development of medicines. Work experience must be full-time.

You must submit a curriculum vitae detailing your relevant work experience of at least two years. Your CV must clearly state workplaces, specific work periods and job responsibilities.
You must have a standard of English equivalent to level B in Danish secondary education.

You can demonstrate your English language proficiency in one of the following ways:
Native English speakers from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK or Ireland may submit a copy of the page of their passport that has their photograph as proof.
Nordic applicants can demonstrate their English proficiency by submitting a certified copy of a high school diploma proving that they have passed English level B or by submitting a certified copy of a bachelor's or master’s diploma from a Nordic university.
Applicants who have earned a bachelor’s or a master’s degree from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK or Ireland can demonstrate their English proficiency by submitting a certified copy of their degree certificate if their degree was taught in English. A semester or year spent on a student exchange programme is not sufficient.
Applicants working in companies with English as the official working language can demonstrate their English proficiency by submitting a letter from their employer, on official headed paper, stating that their working language is English.
Applicants can demonstrate their English proficiency if they have passed a recognised English language proficiency test with an adequate score. We accept the following tests:

Please notice:
IELTS and TOEFL tests older than 2 years will not be accepted (counted from the programme application deadline). There is no period of limitation for validity of the Cambridge tests.
Non-EU citizens must obtain a visa before entering Denmark.
Application process
If you are applying for admission to an individual course, please go to the course of your choice and use the application form provided there.
- Make sure that you meet the admission criteria.
- Collect all of the required documentation.
- Fill out the application form and press submit.
- Allow for academic assessment of your application.
- Look for the result in your registered email account.
You will be notified as to whether you are successful by email no later than 6 weeks after you submitted your application.
Note that the University of Copenhagen will maintain a record of your personal data related to your application and whether you were successful.
When you apply for admission to the Master of Industrial Drug Development or to an individual course, you must submit the following documentation:
- copies of your transcripts and certificates (make sure to upload them as a single file if you are submitting several documents)
- a CV detailing at least two years’ relevant work experience
- a proof of English language proficiency (participants on individual courses are exempted from this documentation)
- a copy of your passport (photo page).
Applications are processed as they are received. Once the admissions committee has determined your eligibility, you will be notified of their decision.
Eligible candidates are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
On the basis of an individual assessment, the admission committee may admit applicants who do not hold one of the mentioned qualifying degrees if the applicant is deemed to possess comparable educational qualifications.
Please note that you will not be exempt from the requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience.
